Kudat is an outskirt located 2+hours drive away from KK which is famous of its "Tip of Borneo". We excitedly rent a car to embark a one day trip to Kudat. We passed by gong making factory, bee farm and long house along the way to the tip of Borneo. There we had seafood for lunch before we spent out time at the beach, again while waiting for the nicest ever sunset apparently.
The whole journey wasn't as smooth as others. Firstly, we did ask around for a famous seafood restaurant but the seafood we ordered turned up to be only ok-ok with a not-so-friendly restaurant worker who served us and a little arguement.
Secondly, it was another cloudy day which the sun was partially obscured by thick cloud. We patiently waited till it drizzled when the sun started to set. We stood in the rain for a while and ran to a nearby hut when the rain was getting heavier. We had the worst sunset ever in the best sunset spot. Things were not that bad though as we still managed to catch a few seconds of the partially obscured sun moving down.
Thirdly, I disregarded friends' advice of going back before dark. The journey back was rough with bad conditioned roads. No street light, no divider, portions of bumpy constructing roads and the rain. Worse still, the rented car was giving problem that really worried us. The petrol indicator was spoilt and we estimated the oil tank is going to hit empty any time soon. We toured around for petrol stations which already closed by 9pm before one was finally found few miles away. We went slow but at the same time rushed to return the car before time. And out of a sudden, a cow ran out of the road from no where followed by the screams of the girls (The loudest being Deva as usual). I was so close to the cow after the emergency break applied. The cow stared at us slumbery, waved its tail a little and walked past the car. We ended up returned the car late and paid a little sum of late charge. I knew how to spell dangerous then by putting together dark, rain, bad road condition, spoilt car and cow.
It was indeed an adventurous ride. There were some disappointments but the journey was overall a good one. Thank You Lord for Your guidance and protection.
