Monsopiad cultural village

Monsopiad was a well known head hunter originated from Kadazan tribe 300 years ago who hunted the enemies' heads as a prove of victory. This cultural village gives a good insight of the tradition and culture of Kadazan involving head hunting and spirit worshipping. We were introduced to some traditional instruments, wines, games, costumes, performances and so on. I thought it was a good place to visit if one would like to know more about the culture of the native.

The red arrow shows the place where the hunted heads were placed. The stone in the middle was where the spirits lied and it aged more than 300 years.

These are the remaining broken skulls after so long.

The rice wine is made up of 7% of alcohol. The recipe of making were given in the slide shows below. We were supposed to react how the given rice wine tasted (Sakthi's expression was misleading). I could only drank one third after much effort. The alcoholic taste was too strong.

Tembanau time. Could hardly balance myself still...

The traditional performances were cool! Siew Li was invited onto the stage by one of the performer. It was rather funny and lovely. I shall not talk more about it since the involving person doesn't permiss. Overall, the cultural village is superb!
