Being on top of the cloud for the first time, I was more excited than the others despite the sleepless night on the day of departure. Deva, Sakthi, Siew Li, Seow Fan and I were moving on to our selective in Kota Kinabalu for the next 5 weeks. And here we are for the third day :) .
We are pretty much settled in a corner double-storey-house in Taman Fortuna which is only 5 minutes drive to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. It takes only 15 minutes drive to Tanjung Aru beach from our place. Thanks to Kai Fei for being able to lend us his car. It has made the exploration of new places and nice eating places easier for the past few days. All 5 of us have the same affection of gradually in love with this place regardless of the slightly higher cost of living.

We are up for water rafting this Saturday. I can't wait! Woohoo~

beautiful isnt it? the scenery from the top? all the fluffy clouds with different shapes and during take off and landing, you see trees the size of ants.. very liliputian like~ hehe..
i miss sabah! wanted to go there to work.. but since my grandad found his way back to God, i changed my mind.. main reason i wanted to work there was because of him..
make sure you go to Gaya Street "tamu" ok? and if you dare, you should totally check out the tamparuli bridge.. you can ask the locals wats underneath the bridge hehe.. oh and do try the best mee soup in the world!! it's at a place called Pipin in Penampang.. but on weekdays they operate at their house in Inanam.. you should totally try it!! also.. eat kadazan food like the sago worm and bats.. its worth the experience XD
p/s: bats cured my asthma haha.. seriously~
take care there! beware of head hunters.. they still exist.. speaking of which.. go to Monsopiad village.. you can see hanging skulls there.. hehe
oh and.. haha.. dont forget to study as well XD
Thanks Jo, very halpful info. Seen the names on the signboards but not sure where exactly it is. Would really love to try all. But it isn't hard to travel with a map in hand. The roads aren't as complicated as in KL :p

well.. i wanted to work there to look after my grandad, keep him company and stuff.. but since he's passed on.. i dont really have a reason to want to stay there coz my immediate family are in johor..
and lols.. you should eat all that without knowing wat you're eating.. so if say you eat something white and tastes like butter, thats the sago worm.. if its black and looks like rhino beans, thats bat.. tastes like chicken tho XD
oh and before i forget.. do try tuaran mee.. make sure you go to tuaran and eat there.. dont eat tuaran mee sold in other places lols
btw.. try to get a local to bring you ard.. the maps dont show you great places to eat.. haha
I see. Sorry to hear. Ya, map didn't show me where are the best makan places.. We just went to the places that we can see along the roadside. However, tried the nyonya fish noodles and "Sarawak" laksa brought by my pastor here. Superb!
Regarding the black and white things, if nobody tells me what are those maybe I'll still put inside my mouth haha..

Kiwi-bird: SFan has good direction sense. I'm the one who always get lost. Anyway, begin to familiarise after a week of car ride. I tried sotong bakar too!
